Fc Barcelona problem in forward position

The 2019-2020 season has not been very good  for the catalans, they have been very inconsistent through out the season while our defence surely let us down, we are going to see how did our forward played this season. And according to many of the fans there were less goals scored as per expectation, we dont usually say this to a team who is known to play aggressively and who always eye to  score a goal. But this season hasn't be the same as the previous one. Barcelona already had a very less attacking option.

1.Proper no 9 (striker)

Suarez was playing quite well till the time he was playing and it looked like he had hunger for scoring goal but after the match against Atletico madrid in january at camp nou he suffered a knee injury and he has been out of action since then and it was estimated that he will return in the late May, but suarez had been ahead of the schedule and it is said that he could be fit till mid april which could be a great asset to the team

We can understand the importance of him by looking at the top scorer chart where he is in third spot in la liga(11 goals and 7 assists)  just behind karim benzema and the Top scorer lionel messi (19 goals and 12 assists)after not playing a single game from the January first week. But because of the spread of corona virus the la liga has been suspended till the 5 April. And we may see him return to the team when football returns. Barcelona has missed him a lot in his absence 

2.Lack of coordinarion between Messi and Greizmann 

After the signing of Greizmann from Atletico Madrid for 120 million euro

it was reported that messi was not happy with the signing. Because a year before Greizmann made a statement that he wont join Barcelona 

Often in the games it has been seen that they dont get in the same page during the attacking transition. And i dont solely blame Greizmann for only scoring 9 goals this season till now because he has been playing out of his natural position and sometime he has been used in the left flank sometime in the right flank and sometime given the role of centre forward. 

3. Lack of option in front of goal 

Starting this season the available striker were Messi, Greizmann, Suarez, Dembele but because of injury to dembele in the starting of the season they were left with only 3 option which were playing the matches week and week out.

 And to bring in an option to the team 16 year old,  La masia product, Ansu fati was brought into the team. But because of being so young and inexperince  he was often used as substitute. And because of lack of option of players, they looked tired  sometime during the matches because of workload, as Ansu fati was used less time.

4. Messi's rough patch

Messi season didn't start the way he must have wanted because of injury he was sidelined from playing the initial matches but when he back he wasn't the same as we are habitual to see messi play and there was a time when didnt score continuously for 4 matches but during that rough patch also he assisted 6 times and gave a hat trick of assist against Betis. And in the game against Eibar he scored a poker and showed that form is temporary but class is permanent. On his off days also messi looks the best player among all the 22 players in the pitch. 

This were the problem in their forward in the next article we will look into the problems in defence.
