Lautaro Martinez vs Timo Werner, who would be a better fit for barcelona

There has been a number of reports where it has been suggested that barcelona wants to bring Neymar or Lautaro Martinez to barcelona. And while It can be understood why Barcelona want Neymar because when he was in the club he was the part of the greatest attacking trio and part of the team who won the Champions league in 2015 and he is one of the best left winger in the world if not the best. But we can't say the same for Martinez, he impressed everyone in the 2019 COPA AMERICA and in some matches he even overshadowed Messi and from that time it has been reported that Barcelona wants him.

let's know why are we comparing them.

1.) I am comparing them because of their price. Martinez has a release clause of 111million euro and Timo werner has a release clause of 60 million euro. It means there is a gap of 51 million euro between them. And in that amount barcelona can buy a good center back. And Martinez market value is 64 million euro according to transfermarkt. So there is a loss in buying Martinez by paying his release clause. So this was all related to money which don't tell you how good the player is. 

2.) Now let's take the stats and compare them 

If we are going to buy a striker his first duty would be scoring goals. And there is no comparison in this Werner has scored 21 goals and Martinez has scored 11 goals. Werner scores a goal in every 97.7 minutes close to a goal every match. Whereas Martinez scores a goal in every 152 minutes, there is a big gap between them and now you have got a idea how good Werner is in front of goal. Not only goal Werner has given 7 assists whereas Martinez has given just one assist in whole Serie A this season. One aspect where Martinez is slightly ahead is goals in Champions league Martinez has scored 5 goals and zero assist where as Werner has scored 4 goals and assisted twice in the Champions league.

 A team's style of play also influence the players stats so here we will be looking at RB Leipzig and Inter Milan's style of play. First let's look at Timo werner's RasenBallsport Leipzig stats. Their average possession in bundesliga this season has been 53.2% and they take 16.3 shots per game. Inter Milan stats are also very much similar to RB Leipzig, Inter havd average possession of 51.6% and they take 16.2 shots per game. There isn't much difference and both team have quite similar stats which helps to compare both of them. All the stats tells you that Werner is much ahead of Martinez. By looking at their style of play one could easily say that whom should Barcelona try to sign. But now it seems that Liverpool are the front runnners to sign Timo Werner.

Timo Werner is young as well Martinez is 22 years old and Werner is 24 year old.

3.) Martinez will offer more than Werner

In this statement I agree because Martinez helps defence as well but when we brought Greizmann we said the same thing and we can see what has happened.

Lately I have been using tweeter and these are some of the tweets why some fans want Martinez.

Martinez has scored 48 goals in the senior level in 114 matches.

While Werner has scored 96 goals in 242 matches. Experience wise, goal wise I don't think Martinez is better than Werner.

Presently there is no new forward linked with barcelona other than Neymar and Martinez. Barcelona should make a wise move  while making transfer d Becuase in the last five or six market Barcelona had only made few right choices and they should think twice before spending huge amount of money. There was lot of hype crated for Allex collado who scored wonderful goal scored for Barcelona B but he hasn't got a single opportunity to play for the senior team. Barcelona should focus more on youth and  La Masia from where they have got their biggest talent.
