Defensive midfielder are the unsung hero of every team which pwrfos well. You need to tackle the player of opposite team even if you know that it would give a yellow card, and you need to be good with the ball in your feet because if you lose the possession in defensive midfield area the opposite team would just get a great opportunity, because they wouldn't need to carry the ball from their own half. And also the ball distribution of the defensive midfielder must be excellent. So lets start the list,
1.)Casemiro from Real Madrid
The brazilian was only the player performung in the 2018-2019 season for Real madrid after having a bad season, according to their standard but this season they started very good and the main reason for that was Casemiro. He defends the ball with his full energy and has often saved madrid in the final third. He has also scored goal on three occasion in the league and assisted on two occasion. We can know how physical he plays by looking at the yellow card tally which is eight. He has shut the critics who were against him with his amazing performance.
His performance against barcelona in the second el classico of the year was outstanding and he along with his team was able to control Messi.
2.)Sergio Busquets
Another player from la liga, Busquets. He was under pressure after Barcelona brought Ajax young talent Frenkie de jong who was playing as defensive midfielder in Ajax but Sergio was given the role of defensive midfielder and Frenkie was assigned with Central midfielder and you have to agree that he has been absolutely well this season. This season barcelona has been struggling with lack of creativity because of which Messi has to drop deep and create something and whenever a big chance is created by Messi it has often begun from Busquets. Busquets has been well with the ball in his feet but with age he has slowed down and the result is he has 8 yellow cards this season. He has scored and assisted on two occasions respectively. His chance created against Napoli in the Champions league game is my favorite he just played the ball in front and semedo who eventually found Greizmann and he scored.
3.)Rodri from Manchester city
The spainard was brought by city from atletico in the summer transfer market and has played well under Pep Guardiola. He has sometime moved with the ball in opposite half and has created great chances. He has scored on three occasions and assisted on one ocassion. He has received 7 yellow cards,which is understand able because the way city plays in the opposite half it is Important that someone interrupts the momentum of the opposition.
4.)N golo Kante from chelsea
He has been the most disciplined defensive midfielder with just 3 yellow cards. He is very fast in covering the ground as we have seen him doing that match and match. He was playing under a new manager Frank Lampard but the world cup winning player performed exactly the way he has been performing these years. He has scored on three occasion in premier league.
Conclusion :- The best defensive midfielder is Casemiro from Real madrid and other follows him in the list
Some of big names missing are Henderson
from Liverpool
and Pjanic from Juventus
The main reason is they as defensive midfielder very less and play as central midfielder more ofren.
